The first stone house built outside Jerusalem’s Old City walls houses a restaurant named 1868, the year of its construction. The stone house invokes memories from the days of the founding of the new city of Jerusalem.
The small communities left the walled city and brought with them traditions and flavours that have created a New Jerusalem cuisine. The restaurant’s Chefs Jacob Turjeman and Tomer Reuveni blend tradition with innovation, combining classical dishes and contemporary Jerusalem cooking.
