Beit Hapkidot was built at the end of the 19th century, at its time it was the biggest and the most magnificent building in the whole of Israel. When the Baron Rotchild and his wife visited the colony the usually stayed on the top floor of this building. During the First World War, the Ottoman Empire turned this building into a military hospital and mosque. When the Turks left Israel 'Beit Hapkidot' return to its original use housing the governors and their families and later on its was used as the colony's primary school.
Today this structure is a museum named after Sarah and Moshe Arizon and represents the days of the first Aliya. The Museum was opened in February 1999, after being completely renovated during the nineties, It exhibits the heritage of the First Aliya and the beginning of the Zionistic settlement back in Israel. The museum's halls combine modern style though keeping the First Aliya era's ambiance.
