The Best Hotels in Dead Sea 2015

Welcome to the lowest point on Earth – the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea area has relatively few hotels (around 20), all of which were built around 2 years ago with no recent additions. The hotels are divided into three areas: Ein Bokek, Neve Zohar & Ein Gedi, with Ein Bokek being the central area. If you're planning a Dead Sea trip soon, this list will enlighten you about the very best hotels in the area.

Isrotel Gardens Hotel

The Isrotel Gardens Hotel has had a total refurbishment and has been reopened this year, transforming it into one of the best hotels available. Both the rooms and the public areas have been renovated. The rooms have crisp, modern designs which give the hotel a new atmosphere. It is also the only hotel to have both a fresh water pool and a salt water pool. The spa has two Jacuzzis, a dry sauna, and a pressure shower, and of course a range of treatments on offer from the best masseuses around at reasonable price.

Advantages: The hotel's renovation gives it awesome style and the prices are pretty reasonable
Disadvantages: There is no direct access to the beach
Price: Starting from $150 a night

Herods Hotel

The Herods Hotel is another name in the long list of hotels belonging to the Israeli chain Fattal. The hotel, which has been neglected over the last few years, has changed its skin and become one of the best hotels of the Dead Sea. The hotel is designed with the colors of the region under the expert eyes of architect Andreas Neudham. The Spa area has been seriously upgraded and offers a range of pampering treatments, including a Turkish bathhouse. All the hotel's rooms have been renovated but the biggest upgrade is in the garden suites which now all contain a private swimming pool. What's more, the hotel has its own private beach.

Advantages: Private beach
Disadvantages: Crazy Wi-Fi prices
Price: Starting from $150 a night

Isrotel Dead Sea Hotel

The Isrotel Dead Sea Hotel is the Isrotel Gardens Hotel's big brother, and is considered the flag hotel of the Dead Sea area. It has a nice private beach (golf cars take you there and back) and they went all out with the pool area with a massive swimming pool that allows kids to go off and enjoy themselves while giving parents a break. Similarly, the hotel's spa club is of the highest class, with 21 pleasant treatment rooms including massages, mud and couple's treatments, and you are invited to enjoy a huge range of health & beauty treatments. The bedrooms stand up to the high standard and provide a sense of real luxury.

Advantages: Private beach & a fantastic pool
Disadvantages: There is no entry for children under 16 to the spa
Price: Starting from $250 a night

Lot Spa Hotel

The Lot Spa Hotel is without a doubt one of the best value for money hotels out there. It is also ranked second in the Tripadvisor's list of best hotels in the Dead Sea. The hotel specializes in spa treatments, making it one of the best spa clubs around. The spa includes a heated Dead Sea water pool & comfortable beds facing huge windows which provide a stunning view of the Dead Sea's unique beauty. There is also a dry sauna, Jacuzzi, a Turkish bathhouse (extra fee), 2 sulphur pool (extra fee), and a gym kitted out with the best equipment.
