One of the most fun parts of going on vacation has to be the breakfast. In contrast to how the majority of us, according to statistics, often start the day on an empty stomach, something special happens to us when we go away – we eat like crazy in the morning. In this article you will find the hotels which serve the best breakfasts in Israel.

The trendiest – Mendeli Street Hotel

The Mendeli Street Hotel is one of the newest hotels on the scene – a small boutique hotel with 66 amazing, modern rooms. We could go on at length about how this is a great hotel to stay at, but that's not why we're here. There aren't many hotels that welcome any member of the public in to enjoy the breakfast. The restaurant's chef is none other than Rafi Cohen, one of Israel's leading chefs who also runs the renowned Rafael restaurant. So what is there to eat? The lavish buffet starts off with a stand of homemade breads and you can even feel the heat of the oven so you know they're fresh – the smell is amazing. Onwards to the salad buffet, rich with inventive creations. There is a stand of the freshest fish, seasoned to perfection, and a menu of 11 choices for your egg, for example eggs enveloped in goat's milk and yoghurt with spinach leaves, salted butter and Syrian olive oil.
For culinary fans who want to start the day with a celebration of the palette this is the place for you!

Note that the price is 75 shekels a head and you have to book a place in advance.

From Garden to Mouth – Mizpeh Hayamim Hotel

Mizpeh Hayamin is one of the most exceptional hotels in Israel. It is located next to Rosh Pina, overlooking one of the most beautiful areas of the country, and is considered one of the best spa hotels in Israel. It also boasts its own organic garden where it grows herbs, grains, and produces its cheeses. The menu changes from day to day but the quality is always high. As well as the excellent taste, the breath taking view turns breakfast into an all-sensory experience.

Note that the restaurant also serves an incredible evening meal at Muscat resetuarant but you must book in advance.

The most elegant – Jerusalem's Mamila Hotel

It's hard to compete with the view of the Old City as seen from one of Mamila's restaurants. As if this wasn't enough, the hotel manages to turn its breakfast into a more memorable experience. The sheer variety of food on offer turns a normally routine meal into a celebration of flavor. The combination of quality and quantity is unmatched and proves that even at breakfast, a hotel can compete with the most impressive of gourmet restaurants. After having your fill, breathe in the fresh Jerusalem air in the dining room's private garden and drink your coffee in tranquillity.

Note that the exclusive Halva of Machane Yehuda Market awaits you here.

In the midst of the Carmel Forest – Carmel Forest Spa Hotel

In the heart of the stunning greenery of the Carmel Forest is one of the most luxurious hotels in Israel. The spa hotel Carmel Forest offers a breakfast that not many restaurants could compete with. Not only is the standard of food so high, but so are the quantities. As this is a hotel that focuses on health, each dish is served with information on how many calories are in it, which is great for some though you might not want to be thinking about that as you eat! To be honest, there is a time and a place for calorie counting and having access to food this good is not it.

Note that anyone can eat breakfast here if they book in advance – 120 shekels a head.

The non-kosher – The Scottish Hotel

If you're by the Kinneret and want to go all out then the Scottish Hotel is the one for you. This is one of the only non-kosher hotel breakfasts in the country, and they certainly apologize for this fact. Amazing cheeses served alongside imported sausages, quiches, pastas, eggs, incredible shakshuka, and dishes you'd expect to find on a lunch menu. If this is your kind of thing, then the Scottish Hotel is a must-visit if you're in the area. The hotel is named after the Scottish hospital that functioned in the same building in the 19th century.

Note that this impressive breakfast buffet is open to the public every day of the week for 117 shekels a head.
