OK, before we mention the hotels themselves we’ve got to point out that the competition selected 100 of the best hotels in the world divided by region. Israel is part of the Middle East, clearly, so as you’ll soon see, more than a few Israeli hotels occupy top spots in the list. So, let’s get started.

The top spot on the list (4th place) was surprisingly won by the famous David Citadel Hotel located opposite the Old City of Jerusalem. It features some of the most splendid vistas in Jerusalem or anywhere in the world. The magazine notes that the rating was based on the location opposite the Old City, the special architecture, room quality, and its superb spa.

No surprise here. The next on the list (8th place) was won by the King David Hotel, also located opposite the Old City, in fact adjacent to the David Citadel Hotel. The King David Hotel is probably the most famous hotel in Jerusalem. World-renowned leaders, diplomats, and even royalty stay at the hotel. The hotel features an authentic antique nostalgic design and provides a quality of service you’ve probably only dreamed about.

11th place on the list is occupied by the Inbal Hotel, also famous for hosting numerous world leaders. The magazine noted the quality of the cuisine and the pleasant room design as well as the unforgettable views from the rooms.

Probably the biggest surprise on the list is Dan Jerusalem Hotel, which is known as one of the least ostentatious of the hotels in the Dan chain. It nevertheless seized the 14th spot on the honor list. This is only hotel on the list with a cost of less than $200 a night.

Another surprise on the list is the legendary Hilton Hotel of Tel Aviv. The hotel is known as one of the best hotels in Israel, but who would have thought that it could compete with the fabulous vacation hotels of the Middle East? Pleasant surprises. The magazine notes that one should not be deceived by the plain box-like outer appearance of the hotel, for inside the box one finds top-level services and hospitality. The magazine also notes the proximity to beach as a major plus.

That’s all for now. We hope that next year more representatives of lovely Israel will enter the list and we’ll be able to report an Israeli hotel in the top spot of the list. Until then, enjoy!
