International Photography festival 2017
The 5th International Photography Festival will
take place in Tel Aviv from the 23rd November to 2nd
December 2017. The 12 day festival will be titled “Photo Is: Festival” and feature
35 exhibitions of work by 200 artists from across the globe. The photographic
festival exhibits will be displayed in an expansive 6,000m space in MIDTOWN Tel
Aviv. This innovative urban complex includes clubs, restaurants, cafes, stores
and the galleries where the exhibitions will be held. In addition to the exhibitions the festival
will include 25 special events and 15 social activism projects, workshops,
master classes, lectures and gallery talks. The Tel Aviv photography festival
has welcomed over 200,000 visitors over the last five years.

The International Photography Festival Tel Aviv 2017 is
organized by Platforma a non-profit company which promotes social activism and
creates bridges between different communities and cultures. Platforma has initiated
and produced the photography festival in Israel over the last five years.
Through the international language of art and photography the members of
Platforma hope to strengthen ties between different cultures and improve our
society. Platforma is active in many countries producing photography events and
social activism programs to further the company’s humanitarian goals.
Tel Aviv Photography Festival 2017 Artists
On display will be works by internationally-renowned local photographic
artists and acclaimed photographers from abroad. Among the artists featured at
the festival there will be photographs by Andrei Pandele from Romania; Weronika
Gesicka from Poland and Laia Abril from Spain. The winner of Meitar Award for
photography will be announced at the opening ceremony of the festival. In
addition to photographs the festival includes historic documentation from
Israel’s best archives.
Special Projects
Featured at the Israel Photography Festival 2017
This year will be unique from previous festivals as there
will be two special events. The first is PhotoNight where a party will be held
in the open spaces between the galleries. At PhotoNight art will meet music and
alcohol. The second special event will be PhotoMarathon. PhotoMarathon will be
a special photography challenge held across the city.
