The St. Andrews Church in situated in the south western corner of the old city of Acre. The structure which was built in 1765 belongs to the Greek orthodox church. This churches position facing the sea stood out and acted as a sign to all the ships coming to this direction.
There are some who believe that this is St. Anna's Church for it was spotted in the same place on the famous Marina Snodo map of Acre. The church that was stated in the bible was near the holy palace which was in the Templars quarter in the South-western wing of Acre.
This church structure is unique for it faces towards Jerusalem, thus it is believed that this ancient church was actually an even older synagogue built at the mid-times. This theory says that the synagogue was actually built by the Jews of Piza, whose quarter lays just east of the church in Acre.
