The 10 Most Popular Attractions In The City Of Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is one of the world’s most diverse cities. Despite of its small size (in comparison to other big cities in the world) Tel Aviv knows how to offer much more than many other big cities worldwide, and its biggest advantage is that everything is within a walking distance. The city offers a huge amount of sites to visit, but to make things easier for you we organized the 10 most worthwhile city attractions.

Neve Tzedek - Suzanne Dalal Center and the Station Complex (“HaTachana”  Complex)

Neve Tzedek is one of Tel Aviv’s most famous neighborhoods, and actually the first neighborhood ever built in the city. The neighborhood, which was the first to be built in Tel Aviv, had become over the years the most popular area in the city and contains, among other interests, art galleries, designer shops, top restaurants and many other attractions. The two most well known places in the neighborhood are the Suzanne Dalal Center - an Israeli cultural center, which is, since its opening in 1989, responsible for over 1200 premieres in all fields. The second place is of course the complex of the first railway station in Tel Aviv,  which was refurbished and restored and became an entertainment center with cafes, restaurants, designer shops and art galleries

      The Train Complex
A visit to the Eretz Israel Museum is a must for visitors in the city. It is a multidisciplinary museum that deals with the history of the country and its culture through an extensive permanent display and temporary exhibitions on various subjects.

Jaffa's Old City

The full name of the city of Tel Aviv is Tel Aviv - Jaffa. Jaffa is an Arab neighborhood located in the heart of Tel Aviv and constitutes an example of coexistence between Arabs and Jews. The Old City of Jaffa is full of sites worth visiting such as museums, markets, churches and more.

“White City”

In 2003, UNESCO proclaimed Tel Aviv as a World Cultural Heritage site. By this declaration, the world recognized the special architectural qualities of buildings, streets, squares and boulevards of Tel - Aviv. A tour in the “White City” itinerary will tell you the history of the “White City”.

The Carmel Market and Nachlat Binyamin

The Carmel Market is the most famous market in Tel Aviv. It is located in Nachlat Binyamin and one can find in it almost everything: from fresh goods, through clothing, watches and perfumes - in short, everything. Meeting the market exposes the tourist to a lively and colorful Mediterranean market. The market itself is located in Nachlat Binyamin, which is by itself a great attraction. On Tuesdays and Fridays an artists’ fair is held in the pedestrian mall, exposing different art and craft products for sale. Worth a visit.

The seashore promenade (“Tayelet”) and the beach

In case it slipped your mind, Tel Aviv is, first of all, a charming coastal city, enjoying 14 kilometers of beaches, while the center of the promenade is located between Gordon Street in the north and Jaffa in the south. The beach is wide and clean, and a stroll on the promenade, combined with the everlasting pleasant breeze turns the walk into a real attraction.

Tel Aviv Port

Tel Aviv port was once the region's main port. But there’s been a long time ever since and today the port is used as an entertainment center. The port incorporates top restaurants that benefit from a view to the sea, from shops of all kinds and a breeze that only blows as it does near the sea.

The cool streets

Like everywhere else in the world, in Tel Aviv too there are streets that you should visit. Leading the list are streets such as Shenkin, Rothschild Boulevard, Kikar Hamdina, Dizengoff, Bograshov, King George, Ibn Gabirol and Irmiyahu. These are without a doubt part of the liveliest streets in the city. There are more streets worth a visit you can find at this link

Hayarkon Park

Hayarkon Park is located along the Yarkon River which flows into the Mediterranean. The park is widespread, full of green vegetation, which, in combination with the river, turns the place into a pastoral corner in the heart of Tel Aviv. The park joins the port at its end, allowing a combined tour - the harbor and the park.

Templers House

The Templers neighborhood (Sarona) was one of the first neighborhoods founded by former habitants of Jaffa. Their aim was to build next to central transport routes. The Templers neighborhood was built in 1871, and about 5 years ago was seriously furbished, whereas, in order to expand the adjacent road the houses had to be moved. The region's proximity to the Azrieli Mall allows a combination of the visit with a shopping day at the Azrieli mall.

As you may have noticed, Tel Aviv is full of activities of all kinds. If you didn’t find what you were looking for in this article, you can go to the next page where you will find all the attractions of Tel Aviv. Hope you will have a great time!
