Ohel Mo'ed Synagogue, Tel Aviv

The "Ohel Mo'ed'" synagogue, is one of Tel-Aviv's first synagogues and is used until this very day by the Spanish ethnic group in Tel Aviv. The spirit behind the erection of the synagogue was Ben Zion Hai Uziel, the head Spanish rabbi of the city of Tel Aviv in those days. In his search for funds for the synagogue he reached the ears of Shalom Aharon Helevi and Shlomo Izhak Cohen, two Jewish men of Eden Yemen, who bought the land on their way to Israel, while passing through Egypt.

The synagogue was planned in the 20s and inagruated in Shadal 5 street in Tel Aviv, in the year 1931 after 6 years of construction. A dome made of 15 steps, which represent the 15 virtues which the synagogue held, was built in the center of the synagogue. The rabbi Uziel, transferred his chambers to the synagogue, which is open for visits till these "Ezel" and "Lehi" training facility.
