Hermon Mountain

Mount Hermon or known by its commercial name Hermon Resort is the highest mountain in Israel. Mount Hermon is situated in the most northerly corner of the Golan Heights area which is in fact a kind of border between Israel, Lebanon and Syria. The Israeli side of the Mountain climbs to a height of 1600-2040m. Mount Hermon is used as a ski resort for a few months of the year depending on the amount of annual snowfall in the area. There are 13 tracks of different levels of difficulty (blue, red and black).

In summer the mountain is also a tourist attraction having incredible scenery and views from the mountain summit and the site of a legendary historic battle the Israeli army fought. Mount Hermon is operated by the residents of Neve Ativ (a moshav located at the foot of the Hermon) and as such the moshav looks like a small ski village which offers inclusive ski packages (including accommodation in the moshav).
