The Old Man and the Sea restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Jaffa and in fact is considered an institution. The restaurant offers a menu including authentic meat and fish dishes served in Israeli Eastern restaurants. The restaurant has two branches in Jaffa, the newest is located in the Jaffa port and is situated opposite incredible views of the port and sea. The original branch is located in one of the small lanes of Jaffa, it is a little hard to find but when you step inside you'll realize that the search was worth it.
When you enter the restaurant you'll be bold over by the range of authentic Arabic salads, all of these salads are served with bread and pita bread. For the main course you will have to choose for yourself, we can only tell you that if you have gone all the way there we highly recommend you try the fish, not that the meat dishes are not as good – the opposite is true – but the fish are without a doubt the jewel in the restaurant's crown. The fresh fish are brought to the restaurant daily and this is what makes the restaurant an incredible fish experience. So if you feel like experiencing fine fish dishes with unique local character – this is one of the best places to do so.
