Beit Rishonim Historic Museum, Herzliya

Herzliya was founded on November 1924. The first house built in Herzliya symbolizes the faith in the Zionist dream. The ideological connection between Herzl - Hoze Ha'Medinah ("The Seer of the State") and the pioneer settlement is felt through every layer of the exhibit. The museum perpetuates the city's founding years with a fixed presentation and extent archive documentation.

What is in the museum?
  • An historic archive - contains a record collection of administrative martial created in the colony's committee. The collection contains historic material dating from 1920-1950 assembled from private collections and city archives. All is documented on journals, tapes photographs and more. All of the mentions metrial has been meticulously cataloged and scanned to computers. 
  • Zrif Rishonim - a stationary exhibit of authentic objects from the settlers days, which were donated by collectors.
  • Educational workshops - the main principal of the city's founding father. Instilling knowledge through experience. 
The activity mainly targets mixed ages through innovative interactive guidance designed especially for this goal. Among other, the participators meet with testimonies from first hand sources.
