Shade and water - While in the Galilee, don't miss a visit to the Amud Stream, an important part of the Mount Meron
by Israel Nature and park Authority.
The Amud Stream is a "miniature Garden of Eden" a magical creation of nature. Here, along a year-round flowing stream in the shade of groves and fruit trees, the INPA has marked trails where you can spend two to four hours enjoying the beauty and tranquility of nature. The main points of interests along the Amud Stream are En Yakim (En Tina) - a year-round spring surrounded by fruit trees; some of the largest plane trees in Israel; orchards irrigated by traditional mountain methods, including lemons, apples, dates, olives, plums, figs, pomegranates and grapevines; ancient flour mills; a fulling mill where the Jews of Tsfat worked long ago; a wading pool.
How to get there:
Access to the Amud Stream is from the Karmi'el-Meron Junction road (no. 866), about 1.5 km north of Moshav Kfar Shama'i (between kilometer-markers 40 and 41). At this point, a road about 1 km long turns east and reaches the parking area. From there, a walking trail marked in red leads to the stream.
